Merlin

Merlin in trainingMerlin is learning people (and training flags) are not so scary after all!

We are delighted that you are thinking about adopting a horse. We just want to make sure you have considered your financial commitment, as well as the physical and emotional commitment you will make. If you are interested in adopting, please review our adoption guidelines.

Name:  Merlin

Age:  Approximately 6 Years Old

Sex:  Gelding

Breed: Hackney Pony

Height:

Status:  Merlin is in foster care right now.  He has a lot of trust issues but the foster mom has been working on this. He’s very sweet, once he trusts. Needs a confident, patient handler.  We are accepting adoption applications for Merlin.  More About Merlin

We understand that adopting a rescued horse is not for everyone, but you can still make a difference. You can sponsor the care of a horse, pony, donkey, or other equine during its rehabilitation, or help with the life-long care needed for those who can never be adopted out.

All donations are greatly appreciated and, because we are an all-volunteer run organization, your tax deductible charitable contributions go directly to help the horses.

And, even if you don’t have the ability to donate or adopt, you can still help!  Volunteer or simply spread the word — please share and like us on Facebook

Our dear Fern had to leave her friends recently for greener pastures. She was always our ever-ready spokeshorse. If she were still here, she would be sending you messages about hay, and that her horsie friends still need to eat every day.

As little as $5 feeds a horse for a day. Won't you please help by making a donation in Fern's memory? There are DONATE buttons on this page to make it easy, OR PayPal is 1stlightfarm@gmail.com OR the mailing address is First Light Farm Equine Shelter, 1054B North River Road, Auburn, ME 04210

Our next delivery is in a week. $1200 will get Fern's friends through another couple of months. Please think about funny, engaging, quirky, happy Fern. Please think about our commitment to care for horses like Fern until they are homed or end their days. Please help us keep our promise to these horses.
Thank you!
